Move over, Royal Tenenbaums. The Andy Wolf Family clearly steals the show in this family picture. The hand-made eyewear label from the Styria region of Austria is celebrating the full bandwidth of human experience – all the miracles large and small – that make life worth living in its new Fall collection.
The name and motto of the new line is “AWE” – “a complicated feeling that can be good or bad, standing for reverence, wonder, joy or fear and shock. Awe makes you feel overcome with great emotional power, giving you a whole new perspective.” The attention to detail behind the scenes is most definitely awesome: 50 people and over 90 individual steps are necessary to produce one Andy Wolf frame. This process takes up to one month.
The brand founded in 2006 offers a wide range of new perspectives in its unisex-collection, accompanied by a beautiful lookbook. The collection dazzles with a mixture of striking and curved shapes, all with that special something. In terms of color, Andy Wolf let subdued nuances and gentle gradients dominate.
For the female collection, the brand developed custom acetate plates with a color palette ranging from copper, nude and gold tones, over calm blue to black and grey. These acetate/metal frames come in six different colors with a color-coordinated middle layer – with glitter particles – as the main highlight and guaranteed showstopper.
